JP LeBlanc, VE9BK
First licensed in 1982 as VP9LA in Bermuda. Since then, he has held the following calls: VO1PJ, CH1PJ/VG8, VE3PJL, VO1SK, VE3SLW, DA1RK in Germany, VE1RN, VA3QN and his current call, VE9BK. JP is an avid contester and the other half of the Super Mini Contest Station ,VE9ML. For ten years he wrote the Club Corner Column for the Radio Amateur's of Canada's TCA magazine. JP is a recipient of The Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateurs (SONRA) Bob Lewis award for outstanding contributions to amateur radio in Newfoundland. He is a past president of MAARC, the Maritime Contest Club, Polar Amateur Radio Club (VE8RCS), the Long Bay Amateur Radio Club (VE9CB), CFB Kingston Amateur Radio Club (VE3 RCS) and the CFB Borden Amateur Radio Klub (BARK). JP is also the Maritime Coordinator for the Canadian Forces Amateur Radio Affiliated System (CFARS) using the call CIW807. We know JP thru his work as the Emergency Coordinator of the Codiac Amateur Radio Group (CARG). Many times over the years JP has instructed the basic course for the many clubs he has been a member of. |
