 I was informed by André, VE9ARG, that he received the sad news this morning from Wayne's wife that he had passed this morning. Wayne was a longtime member of MAARC and had remained active, within his limitations, until very recently.
André will forward any and all information about Wayne's funeral when it is available. Rest in Peace VE1RR and I hear the DX is really good up there. Ross, VE9GCS Note: Mr. Gillcash's obituary is now on our Silent Keys page. A massive turnout today at the first MAARC Monthly Meeting for 2019. We had 39 people attend the meeting. After the general meeting, Tobie, VE9XAB gave a very interesting talk on digital modes in amateur radio with emphasis on VHF and UHF. Thank you Tobie for the TekTalk presentation.  
This years 2019 Amateur Radio Basic Course begun today with 17 students in attendance. Lead by Yvon (VE1VON), the students were treated to an introduction of Ham Radio basics. Thanks to Yvon and the many other volunteer instructors, we are looking forward to another great batch of licensed Amatuer Radio Operators this year. Welcome aboard!
