Moncton Fusion Repeater - VE9MFR

The Fusion Repeater system is running in “analog/digital” mode, which means those who have an analog transceiver and/or a Yaesu Fusion transceiver can both enjoy the system.

  • 146.625MHz – offset
  • Analog/digital mode enable (both digital and FM analog operation possible)
  • CTCSS 103.5Hz (FM Analog Operation) No tone needed for digital
  • WIRES-X Moncton Node ID 50871 (Repeater external link code, to link from another fusion repeater to VE9MFR)
  • WIRES-X Moncton Room ID 60871 (MAARC chat room)

If you connect to another node/room, the VE9MFR machine will drop the unused connection after 10 minutes.

Recommended Repeater Operating Procedures

  • Normal repeater protocol is in place while using VE9MFR.
  • Identify yourself before opening a room or node and when you are done with the link.
  • Use # then the node or chat room id (ie: #50207) to link to Amherst
  • Use * to disconnect
  • Leave long gaps between transmissions. Since the communications flow takes place over the Internet (where there may be lag/delay), it’s important to “leave room” for other stations that may want to join the conversation.
  • After you press your PTT, take a breath and then start speaking. A slight delay after PTT is required to overcome Internet lag/delay times. If you PTT and speak without a slight delay, the first portion of your speech will NOT be heard at the destination.
