​The Codiac Amateur Radio Group was again invited to participate at Fire Fighter Appreciation Week Open House at the Riverview Fire Station in Riverview, NB. The following CARG and MAARC members participated or stopped by to offer moral support: JP, VE9BK, Gilles, VE9NW, Marcia, VE9MMG, Mike, VE9MTV, Oscar, VE9OSK, Ross, VE9GCS, Keith, VE9ELA, Jack, VE1AIR, Jim, VE9KT, Tobie, VE9XAB, Gordie, VE9MM, Hinson, VE9CX and Frank, VE9FD.

Certificates were given out to kids who sent their names using Morse Code. Also, Ross, VE9GCS made a contact with Pedro, WY4A in Florida using a remote base at his home QTH in Dieppe from the Riverview Fire Station. The contact was on 29.600 MHz FM using a 2 meter simplex frequency to access the 10 meter frequency. Gilles, VE9NW set up a working packet station and a Fusion Digital radio was also demonstrated.
