For the first time, a group of CARG volunteers provided communications for a reduced Dobson Trail Race. The original race, which was cancelled due to flooding, covered 60 kms in length. As a result, race organizers went ahead with a 10 km race instead.
The only way to get to the “turn-around” point was by Jeep. This job was taken on by Denis, VE9MUD and Mike VE9NOM. Have to love those Jeep Club guys, as they did a great job. That being said, Misha, VE9GIS walked to the 2.5 km point in snow, rain/high winds to provide valuable communications. The race organizers were very pleased with our support. The added safety factor that was provided by CARG was mentioned by several of the runners. A total of 37 runners took part in the race. Taking part: Andre VE9ARG, JP VE9BK, Ross VE9GCS, Mike VE9NOM, Denis VE9MUD, and Misha VE9GIS. Comments are closed.
