MAARC Training goes Virtual during COVID-19 Pandemic keeping new Students Connected

With the COVID-19 Pandemic shutting down social gatherings around the country, MAARC member and Training Lead, Yvon Hachey moved quickly to setup a virtual training environment for the current students already halfway through the Basic Class to be able to complete the course.

Utilizing a new private Facebook Group just for the students, Yvon along with our other volunteer trainers are now using Facebook live video broadcasting to teach the students virtually. Students log in every Saturday morning at the normal training time where our trainers broadcast live from their home. Students are able to ask questions and submit feedback live to the trainer during the broadcast. The videos are then saved to the group for future review. The trainers are also able to post tips and study materials for the students to utilize.

With this level of dedication from our volunteers, we are confident our current class of future Radio Operators will be successfully licensed in no-time. Thank you to everyone involved with our Basic Training Class.
