​Work Greater Moncton and Area Award (WGMAA)
​Sponsored by the Moncton Area Amateur Radio Club, Inc.

​Award given for confirmation of having established Two Way Simplex Radio Contact with the 25 stations in the Greater Moncton Area.
​
To qualify for WGMAA:
  • Simplex contacts only on 2 metres. No Repeaters to be used. 
  • Suggest 146.520 as the preferred frequency.
  • In order to qualify for the award, 25 unique 2m contacts are required. 
  • Contacts can be made in any mode, but only one contact will count regardless of mode.
  • Contacts starting 1 May 20 will count for the award.
  • The honour system will be used. No QSL cards are required.
  • Any 2m mobile stations passing through the Moncton Area will count for the award.
  • Net contacts DO NOT count. (ie Sunday VHF Simplex Net).
  • To obtain your Award, send a list of your 25 contacts to JP, VE9BK via email at medals2@gmail.com. A blank submission form is available on this webpage.
  • The certificate is a high quality pdf file suitable for printing by the recipient.
Additional Endorsements
​The Work Greater Moncton and Area Award also has a number of endorsements as follows:
  • 50 Contacts – The additional 25 contacts must be different that the first 24 contacts.
  • QRP – Contacts must be made using 5 watts or less
  • Grid Square – A total of 25 Grid Squares must be worked. 
For those who do not know their GridSquare, it can be found here by simply putting in your callsign.
