Upon awareness or notification of an incident requiring emergency communications, members of CARG will monitor the VE9TCR repeater (147.345+). In the event that the VE9TCR repeater (147.345+) is not available, members are to monitor the secondary frequency of 146.580 simplex.
About CARG
The Codiac Amateur Radio Group (CARG) is composed of volunteer amateur radio operators who come together for the purpose of providing emergency communications service to Federal, Provincial and Municipal public safety and public service organizations during a disaster or an emergency. You do not need to be a member of MAARC to become a member of CARG.

Statement of Purpose
In the Radio Communication Regulations pertaining to the Amateur Radio Service rules, Industry Canada has made provisions for emergency communications by Amateur Radio due to the value of the amateur radio service to the public as a voluntary non-commercial service, particularly with respect to providing emergency communications.
Goal
The goal of CARG is to provide trained amateur radio operators for emergency communications for municipal, provincial and non-government agencies under the guidance of the CARG Emergency Coordinator (EC) and leadership team. CARG seeks to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with municipal, provincial and non-government agencies (ie. Red Cross) in the Tri-city area.

CARG in process of adding Packet to its Voice capabilities for Emergency Communications in 2022
Until now, a dozen CARG volunteers, who have packet stations installed at home, have been taking part in the local Packet Project.
However, It is not necessary to have a Packet Station to join the Packet Project group.
If you have Internet access, then you can participate. So here is your opportunity to become proficient in packet operations without having to invest in any equipment whatsoever.
Please email me if interested and I'll have your email added to the Packet Project distribution list so you can receive meeting appointments and updates. An Internet account on the Moncton Packet node will also be created for you.
The Packet Project meets Thursday evenings at 7:30pm, and I hope to see you at our next meeting.
CARG Holds Another Successful Pumpkin Patrol on Halloween 2021
The Codiac Amateur Radio Group (CARG), in cooperation with the Codiac RCMP, conducted its yearly Pumpkin Patrol, which covers the municipalities of Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview.
